Products containing E. coli were detected in stores in the Kyzylorda region

For 2 months of 2020, 607 samples, including food products, perfumes, and household chemicals, were delivered to the branch of the National Center of Expertise for the Kyzylorda region of the KKKBTU Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan for examination.

All samples were purchased as part of monitoring the quality of consumer goods by the Department of Quality Control and Safety of Goods and Services in the Kyzylorda Region of the KKBTU Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

As a result of laboratory tests, NCE specialists identified the following violations in 37 samples:

  • discrepancy in microbiological indicators in nine samples: poultry meat, broiler chicken drumsticks, broiler chicken carcasses, confectionery products, boiled sausage;       
  • according to physical and chemical indicators, deviations from the norm were recorded in 6 samples: table salt, broiler chicken drumsticks;

  • In 22 received samples, the composition, expiration date, manufacturer and information on storage conditions were not indicated: baby food, confectionery, soft drinks, meat, poultry, oil fats, canned food, dairy products, perfumes and cosmetics.

In addition, violations were recorded in 5 samples where Escherichia coli bacteria were found:
  •  broiler chicken drumsticks, frozen, LLC MPK "USA" Russian Federation;

  •  Frozen broiler chicken drumsticks, Servolux Agro CJSC, Republic of Belarus;

  •  broiler of JSC "Alatau Kus", domestic products;

  •  minced meat with fat “Keremet et”, IP “Almenov”, domestic products;

  • boiled Muslim sausage “Amanat”, IP “Niet”, domestic products.

Based on identified inconsistencies with the requirements of technical regulations, all individual entrepreneurs were issued orders to eliminate violations of the requirements of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of sanitary and epidemiological welfare of the population.

All identified violations are published in the “Register of products that do not comply with the requirements of regulatory legal acts in the field of sanitary and epidemiological welfare of the population, hygienic standards and technical regulations.”

Also, NCE sanitary doctors advise consumers when purchasing products to pay attention to the appearance of the product, the presence of relevant information on the packaging, expiration date, the presence of documents confirming quality and to thoroughly wash meat products before cooking under running water and subject them to heat treatment.
