During a briefing at the Central Control Center, Timur Sultangaziev, Chairman of the Quality Control Committee for the Safety of Goods and Services, spoke about how many tests for coronavirus were carried out in Kazakhstan. In addition, he said that it is planned to purchase domestically produced test systems to detect coronavirus soon.

“In total, 696 thousand test systems manufactured in China have been purchased since March for the amount of 3 billion tenge. In total,  more than 1.7 million studies have been carried out in the Republic of Kazakhstan  . Including 971 thousand studies at the National Center of Expertise, based on the laboratory of the Control Committee quality and safety of goods and services. The remaining studies were carried out in private medical laboratories or laboratories at medical organizations of the health department,"  Sultangaziev informed.

According to him, preparations are currently underway for procurement procedures for test systems, including those from Kazakh commodity producers. As the speaker noted, all branches of the National Center of Expertise plan to use domestically produced test systems. As part of the government reserve, it is planned to purchase test systems for 1.2 million studies.

“The laboratories of the National Center of Expertise are currently conducting tests based on test systems produced in China. To date, Kazakh test systems have not been tested directly on the basis of our laboratories. In order to assess the quality, there are relevant organizations to check how These tests are of high quality. There is a reference laboratory in Almaty, which conducts an additional quality study for each study to confirm whether there are any deviations in certain test systems.  Accordingly, complaints directly from private laboratories to the Quality Control Committee about poor quality no tests have been reported ,"  he added.
